Welcome to the website of Shelly Cox Editorial. I am a freelance editor helping authors, students, and business people write with greater clarity and meaning.

When I’m not freelancing I work as managing editor for a publishing company whose main product is a monthly trade magazine. I’ve also excelled as an associate editor at another publishing company and as a university English instructor. But don’t let that fool you. I don’t quote grammar rules with fancy names, and I detest business-speak. Instead, I specialize in transforming confused, complicated text into direct and meaningful writing. I can help you clarify your ideas too.
I will give your work personal attention and explain my edits if there’s any confusion. And because I don’t charge by the page or the word, I won’t rush through your job. My work is careful, accurate, and tailored to each writer’s style.
